I love saving money.

A few years back my world came to a crashing halt when I was pregnant with our youngest daughter and I got the call my husband had been hit head on by a drunk driver. He survived, but his truck was totaled, the lady had no insurance, and my husbands hospital bills began to pile up (but that is a whole different post).

When you know it is going to get worse, before it gets better, you find a way. That was the moment I began to get serious about saving money. I still had mouths to feed, and bills, there is only so much you can trim back.  It’s been a few years, and our feet are on steady ground now, but I still love to save and get a few things Free here and there.

This is my quick run through of how to get started on a path to cutting costs and hopefully help some one else out in their time of need (or just help some of you have some extra cash for the things you really want).

I started by downloading  the Ibotta app, this is my first recommendation.  It is simple, easy to use and always has at least a few things that you are going to buy anyway.
Go to Google App and download Ibotta  check it out online at www.ibotta.com
Use Referral Code :  ya4afa
Using Ibotta, you go to each offer and read the text, answer the question or watch the video. After purchasing the item, you redeem by taking a photo of your receipt and submitting, then checking the items you bought and scanning their bar code. Ibotta will give you cash back on each qualifying item (along with bonus cash) in the form of Paypal or gift cards! You can earn cash back on mobile purchases and in store!

There are three Online ways to earn cash back on your shopping I would go to next.

The first is My Points. I have been a member with them for years and earned lots of gift cards! My husband has enjoyed the $50 Bass Pro and Home Depot gift cards the most!
Go to www.mypoints.com
And sign up! There are so many many ways to earn points towards  gift cards to your favorite places or cash back through Paypal! You can shop online, watch videos, take surveys, open emails and more!!

Earning cash back online is great for shopping for clothes, shoes, toys, and other things you need!

The second is Ebates.  It’s easy to get cash back on all your online shopping. They will issue you a check for your cashback, so if gift cards or Paypal is not your thing, this is the way to go. You get a percentage back on everything you buy.
Go to www.ebates.com
And sign up! Get cash back on in store shopping (by registering your cards), online shopping, booking your travel and more! Money back in your pocket for things you do already!

The next site will give you a $5 Amazon Gift Card just for filling out your registration.

Carepoynt is newer, but an easy way to earn gift cards or Paypal cash back. You can earn points for buying locally and nationally, trying out new products and just for filling out your profile. If you never do anything more than fill our the profile you have made $5!
Go to www.carepoynt.com
Sign up and start earning!

If you don’t mind giving your opinion or sharing what you receive you can get 100% FREE items!! I am going to share my 2 favorite sites for getting FREE Things!

The first is Pinchme! Pinch Me is quick and easy! Just sign up and then once a month on the day selected, watch the site to see if you qualify for free items, select the items you want and wait for them to arrive in the mail!!
Go to www.pinchme.com
Sign up and start watching your mailbox!! I have gotten granola bars, hair masks, hair dye, and more!

Because the mail is so much more fun when you are getting free stuff and not bills!

The second is Crowdtap. This is actually my favorite! You can apply to sample products and take quick polls to earn points towards Amazon gift cards!
Go to www.crowdtap.com
Sign up and start earning your FREE Amazon Gift Cards!

If you are just wanting to shop and save a few dollars then check out the following site.

I recommend the shopping site Hollar,  low cost items, including a $1 shop and find fun little gifts for your kids at holidays. I was able to buy all 4 of my younger kids their Easter Set up for just $12!!
Go to www.hollar.com
And start shopping!!

Now none of these will make you rich, but they will save you money and even put some money back in your pockets! You are going to have to eat and clothe yourself and your kids anyway, so might as well get something back for doing it! And treat yourself in the process with the Free stuff and gift cards you earn!!

  • I am adding a new site I came across that makes it easy to earn gift cards!!

Swagbucks! Fun and easy to rack up the points! Play games, watch videos, answer surveys and shop online!!

If you haven’t already you can try the following:

Coupons.com app – Same as the coupons.com website, but you don’t have to print coupons. You just upload pictures of your receipt and they send the $ to your PayPal.

Checkout51 app – Once you hit $20 you can cash out and they will send you a check in the mail. Sometimes it takes a while to get to $20, but when they have offers for $1 on products that cost $1 and you can redeem it up to 5 times – then it can add up fast.

SavingStar app – Most of these coinside with Checkout51 and Coupons.com. Same as above – you upload the receipt and then once you hit $20 (used to be $5) then you can cashout.

Fetch Rewards app (Used to be mobisave) — Get points for buying certain items/brands – you can cash out at 3,000 ($3) for all kinds of giftcards.

    Target (Cartwheel app)
    Walgreens app
    Walmart Savingscatcher
    CVS app

I use all of these and have saved THOUSANDS of dollars!

    Other websites for free items:
    House Party
    SampleSource
    BzzAgent
    Smiley 360
